Which organizations should be involved in communications planning?

A. Planning Section B. Area Command C. All Stakeholders D. MAC Groups.

Answer: C. All Stakeholders

Communication planning should originate from all stakeholders to guarantee the proper coordination and transmission of information across the entities. Stakeholders might consist of many bodies, units, and teams that are involved into the process of committing or caretaking about some the problem or the event.

Option A- the Planning, is the the Planning Section in the Incident Command System (ICS) but it’s the communications planning should be wider than just Planning Section.

Option B Area Command has higher level management authority and would see multiple incidents needing to be planned for and prepared, however, communications planning for a specific incident or event may not be directly involved.

Option D, MAC Groups (Multiagency Coordination Groups), can help to coordinate across having multiple agencies or jurisdictions, nevertheless, they do not ensure that all are voted into the communications planning activities.

Stakeholder involvement helps planning of communications to cater for views, opinion and ideas of different groups in the society providing the basis for the development of more effective communication.
