As a result, the heart muscle loses its capability to serve as an efficient pumping system. The pattern of the symptom of the cardiomyopathy is characterized by fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness and swelling of the legs, ankles, and feet due to fluid accumulation. Likewise, fever generally is not a symptom that will be found in cardiomyopathy itself. A fever can be a falling sign for the presence of infection or another condition in disease of the heart muscle contracting.
