As you may observe in the case of evaporation that liquid water turns into water vapor, none of the molecules of either substance undergo any chemical change.<\/p>\n<p>When the water evaporates, then the water molecules undergo a transition to kinetic state due to the increased kinetic energy to overcome the intermolecular forces that exist between the water molecules in the liquid state. For this reason, they literally fly away from the liquid surface and go to the gaseous state in the form of water vapor. Yet, the chemical composition of water is still H2O; the molecules do not change, the combination of two separate hydrogen molecules with one oxygen molecule is kept.<\/p>\n<p>In evaporation, no new substance is created and one does not undergo any chemical change in terms of its chemical bonds by either being broken or being synthesized.
