Week 6

In week 6 I have learned several topics including basic transformations, pivot, aggregations, fuzzy data transformations, and slowly changing dimension data flows. Among those, learning the fuzzy data transformation was the most powerful learning moment this week. From the classes, I learned that fuzzy transformation groups the data within the same data set instead of using a matching technique. The knowledge on fuzzy transformation is highly useful in real life to deal with duplicate data. For example, in an organization names of the employees can be duplicated in different spellings. Fuzzy transformation is useful to identify duplicate information and group the data accordingly. The knowledge on fuzzy transformation will be required for working in corporate and so I think it is the most important thing I have learned this week personally. Classes this week help me to gain confidence in teaching skills. I would be able to teach the problem-solving process to other individuals. However, the lining materials in which seats also made me understand the importance of continuously updating my knowledge to know about the latest data transformation techniques. Modern corporate preferred using advanced technology for their activities. Continuous knowledge development would enhance my readiness to work in these organizations. I will use learning from this week to perform my roles and responsibilities effectively in the future workplace. I will also use the current understanding of different data transformation techniques to gather new knowledge in this area. 

Week 7

            In this week, I have learned about several new topics including merge and Lookups, incremental loading, enabling change data capture, and implementing data capture. Among all the topics, the knowledge on enabling and implementing change data capture was the most powerful learning moment for me. The change data capture emphasizes cracking the continuously changing data. In contemporary organizations, businesses require acquiring new data continuously. The learning materials of this week are effective to help me understand pet changing data capture would help me to track any data update in the data warehouse. It would also help me to generate other outputs from a data set. It reduces the need to copy the entire database every time while updating the table as all the incremental updates are recorded and tracked. Therefore, managing the data set becomes simpler with the knowledge of changing data capture.  Tracking the changes would be useful to obtain an idea of how new information is being included in the business database. Therefore, I think the knowledge on change data capture (CDC) would help me to cope with the dynamic environment in modern organizations. The purpose of this course is to improve my employability in the information technology industry. In this week, the knowledge on CDC along with merging and lookups would be effective to improve my employability. After learning the new topics this week, I would be able to teach someone about the problem-solving process of data management. In the future, like to improve my ability to use and implement CDC. I will use the current knowledge on merging and capturing data as a base to gather new knowledge in the future.
