Question:-

write a paper on IoT and the landscape of security risk management

Answer:-

With the development of technology, the concern of privacy is also rising alarmingly. It is a serious concern in the Internet of Things or IoT but it is not in IoT only but also in all the devices, applications, or systems where information or data is shared. Even if precautions are being taken by the user, there are several conditions that are beyond their control and that could be exploited by the hacker easily (Bertino & Islam, 2017). With the development in IoT, hackers can easily craft attack with unprecedented sophistication as well as the correlation of information from different public and private sources such as smartphones, refrigerators, cars, and home automation systems. The development in IoT is making more things connected to the internet. Every passing day is bringing new scope for IoT and people are using it in their daily lives. As more things will be connected to the internet, it will be tough for managing the risk associated with those things. On the other hand, it will be easier for hackers to exploit things (Alaba et al., 2017). Thus, the landscape of security risk management will undergo a severe change as IoT will become more advance. It will be important to identify more strong security measures to protect things from hackers and avoid their impact on people's lives.

The impact of IoT on the daily lives of people can be seen both ways i.e. positive and negative. On the one hand, it will improve the lives of people. IoT has the potential to make smart cities that could be characterized by citywide Wi-Fi as well as an information network linked with the sensor. Apart from this, there will be software as well as a data analytics platform that could make the city enable to provide automated street lighting, on-demand waste pickups, remote-controlled irrigation for fountains and parks, smart parking meters, digital bus routes, and many more. It will make life easier and smart. But on the other hand, the privacy of almost every individual will be at stake. Every aspect of the life of people will be associated with the internet and it will be easier for the hackers to compromise and exploit that (Yilmaz et al., 2019). Hackers can easily disturb the life of the whole people of a smart city if they control water technology and stop the water supply.
