The concept of sustainability has become a very significant concept throughout the globe. The business practices have significant impact on the environment. Hence, the organization should involve in identifying and measuring the impact of its actions on the environment and develop strategies to protect the environment. Honda Motors significantly affects the quality of the environment. Thus, it is the responsibility of Honda Motors to improve its business practices to protect the environment and ensure sustainability. 

Overview of Honda Motors

Honda Motors is a leading multinational Japanese firm. It is specialized in manufacturing vehicles. It produces automobiles, motorcycles, and power equipment. Honda Motors was founded in 1946 and incorporated in 1948. The headquarter of Honda Motors is in Minto, Tokyo, Japan. The organization offers the following products to its potential customers; automobiles, commercial vehicles, scooters, luxury vehicles, water pumps, jet engines, thin-film solar cell, motor cycles, and robotics. 

Problem statement

The focus is on analysing how Honda Motors can ensure sustainability in its approach to protect the environment keeping in mind the level of competitive in the market. There is a very high level of competition in the market. Hence, it is also important to gain competitive advantages. It is a challenge before Honda Motors to ensure sustainability without compromising competitive advantages. 

The data will be collected from scholarly sources to develop strategies to ensure sustainability.

Honda Motors can achieve the goal of sustainability with the help of following strategies. 

Identify the impact of business practices on the environment 

Focus on the reduction of the emission of hazardous gas

Fuel-efficient vehicle should be developed

Innovative technology, standard process and practices should be adopted

Provide effective training to workforce 

Action Plan 

In order to complete the whole project, the following action has been taken. 

Access to Google Scholar and Capella library’s business database has been gained firstly

Relevant keywords has been used to search relevant journals, articles, and research papers such as gaining sustainability, gaining competitive advantages, reducing the environmental impact of business processes and practices, etc.

Selection of the papers has been done based on the significance of the topic of the paper for the identified business problem 

Application of Leadership Strengths

Leadership is the ability to lead to accomplish the project in question. In order to complete this project successfully, I have used my leadership skills and competencies. I used my analytical skills to analyse the problem and identify the solution to the problem. I paid enough attention to understand the requirement of the project so that I could ensure the effectiveness. I used my critical thinking skills to develop strategies to deal with the problem. I am also learning to improve my leadership skills and competencies.

Leadership skills are necessary to work on a project effectively and efficiently. Leadership promotes collaboration among the team members which is important to improve performance and productivity. The following are the principles of leadership needed to work in virtual, global, and culturally diverse business environment.

The leader should appraise the failure 

The leader should recognize the effort and reward them

The leader should set realistic goals

The leader should also ensure safe and healthy organizational environment

Ethical business practices significantly affect the performance and productivity of the organization and hence it should be ensured by the management. Thus, there is a need to develop strategies to ensure sustainability without compromising competitive advantages.
