Question :

With the rise of technology, we are inundated with information - however, not all information is created alike. You, as the reader, have a responsibility to critically analyze each piece of information that crosses your path - and you are armed with the tools to perform this analysis;

Ask yourself:

Is the information credible, recent, scholarly?

Is the persuasion based off morals, feelings, or logic (ethos, pathos, logos)?

Are there any flaws in the arguments?

Answer :

Reliability and credibility of information

In order to evaluate the reliability and credibility of information, the reliability, as well as the credibility of the source of the information, is tested. If the source of the information is reliable and credible, it is thought that the information is also reliable and credible. Apart from this, if the information has been supported with the help of other scholarly articles, it should be considered as reliable and credible (Graham et al., 2019). The information given in the article based on the above discussion can be thought not to be reliable and credible because the reliability and credibility of the source of information are in doubt. There is no information about the author as well as the date of publication that raises a question for the reliability and credibility of the article. However, the arguments made in the article have also bee cited and supported by scholars. Several sources have been used to construct the article that somewhat improves the reliability of the article and the information. Overall, the article is not reliable and credible and in order to improve the reliability and credibility of the article there should be information about the author and date of publication.

The advice presented in the article should not be heeded the reliability and credibility of the article is in question. If the advice presented in the article is being followed, it may lead to negative consequences.

The article is not a persuasive article rather an argumentative article because the author has not used persuasive technique in this article. So, it can be improved by focusing on the strengths and understating what can motivate the audience. Apart from this, consistency is very important to be persuasive and this article lacks it (Ferretti and Lewis, 2019). If an article lacks consistency, it cannot effectively persuade its audience.
