As a safety manager in the organization, elaborate the elements that should be included in conducting the PSSR
As the organization's safety manager, there are some important elements which require mentioning upon when conducting PSSR.
In the approval and review process, the team members need to get involved requiring both a knowledgeable, safety-minded management team and qualified employees. The manager needs to assemble this comprehensive, multi-disciplined team for helping in carrying out any follow-up activities and PSSR (De Wild et al., 2017). This would involve personnel form supervisors, controls and instruments, operations, maintenance, engineering, safety construction and design.
Making PSSR a part of the operations process and ongoing maintenance is important. This makes sense since PSSR is like an act of prevention avoiding negative outcomes of potential. It has a key part in the management of change involving cross-functional approvals and reviews. The goal involves increasing production efficiency, reducing costs and increasing product quality. Organizational technology helps to allow the manager to automate every step of the workflow. It involves effective formalization of idea analysis, collecting changes ideas and documenting the execution and approval of these changes.
The presence of the change management process needs to be ensured. It means that the people are involved, doing behaviour modifications for adapting to new processes during implementation. Several techniques and tools are there for guiding them such example can be the engineering document management software by Accruent’s Meridian (Sen et al., 2019). It helps to facilitate reviews and changes, providing data updates, configurable workflows based upon needs of the organization. It even helps in preserving established controls upon the data changes of engineering. These aids in streamlining change management processes ensuring where all are on a similar page every time.
