Social Sciences Advertisement Examples

Question :

Select four advertisements to support your work on the projects throughout this course. You can either choose all four from the Advertisement Examples provided or include up to four ads that you find yourself. Guidance for selecting your own ads is included at the end of the Advertisement Examples handout. Your selected ads may be print, video, or radio. Either way, you should choose a total of four ads. If you include your own ads, be sure that they display interactions between people or convey ways that the product or service advertised will impact or influence people.

The following four advertisements have been selected for this task; 

1. Pizza Planet: California Meat: It portrays a black man as a savage. He has been divided into two parts. In one part, he has been shown wearing Lakers Jersey while another part has been shown as a primitive character with a gigantic chunk of meat. The message of the ad is to break racism.

2. Infusium 23 Hair Product: the ad focuses on promoting a hair product. The ad portrays a woman walking into an office having stunning hair. The ad states that using this product brings shine (which has been termed as a miracle) that everyone notices without noticing what the individual is wearing or any other things.

3. V2O Pure Grain Vodka: Phone: the campaign of this product uses a series of three different images and explicitly advertised as strictly for adults. The images show the sensual attitude of the individuals portrays in the image. Every image of the campaign shows a different scenario of the night out and enjoying drinks with friends. It also depicts meeting someone new in the bar. The message of this ad is that the product provides the ultimate fun that attracts everyone.

4. Woman’s Room: Stand Strong (an ad from the Croatian Rugby Association): the focus of this advertisement is to protect women from domestic violence. In the campaign, a rugby player can be seen protecting a woman from her husband who is trying to hit the woman.
